His competitive spirit, fueled by the examples set by his golfing idols, has driven him to compete in various tournaments both locally and internationally. Among his proudest achievements are:

• Winning the Western Province Open Amateur Championship
• Obtaining full provincial colours at Gauteng North
• Qualifying as an amateur into the South African Open Championship
• Winning the Altron Big Easy Tour tournament at Randpark Golf Club (Bushwillow)
• Shooting his personal best round of 62 (-10)
